Helping anxious children and teens feel calmer and more confident
ABOUT CATIE McCann, MA,LPCA

I specialize in play therapy and work with children as young as three who are struggling with anxiety, big emotions, or behavioral challenges. I believe play is the language of children, offering a safe and developmentally appropriate way for them to express feelings they may not yet have words for. Through play and other age-appropriate approaches, I help children build emotional awareness, learn to manage difficult feelings, and strengthen their ability to communicate their needs more effectively.
I also enjoy supporting adolescents who are navigating anxiety, OCD, social stress, academic pressure, and increasing expectations. I help teens better understand their emotions, strengthen communication skills, and gradually face fears using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Exposure and Response Prevention when appropriate. My goal is to help teens reduce avoidance, build resilience, and feel more confident both in school and in their relationships.
My professional background includes experience in early childhood education, in home prevention services, community mental health, and a domestic violence shelter. I am a trained victim advocate with significant experience supporting women and children who have experienced domestic violence. These experiences inform my compassionate, strengths-based approach to therapy.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy baking, crafting, reading, spending time with my family, going to the movies, hiking, and yoga.
